Summary:As an Application Support Engineer, you will act as software detectives, providing a dynamic service that identifies and solves issues within multiple components of critical business systems. Your typical day will involve collaborating with various teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges, ensuring the seamless operation of essential applications and systems. You will engage in proactive monitoring and maintenance, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of the business's technological infrastructure. Your role will require a keen analytical mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality support to enhance user experience and operational performance. Roles & Responsibilities:- Real-Time Monitoring & Alerting-Monitor infrastructure, servers, applications, and services using tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, SCOM, Zabbix, Dynatrace, or Splunk.-Acknowledge, validate, and triage alerts and events in real time.-Ensure proper logging and categorization of events in ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy).-Incident Detection & Response-Act as first responder for critical infrastructure and application incidents.-Initiate standard incident response procedures including notification and escalation.-Coordinate with technical teams (network, server, database, cloud) for issue resolution.- Command Center Operations-Maintain 24x7 operations coverage in rotating shifts.-Execute routine operational tasks (e.g., health checks, batch monitoring, backups verification).-Support change window activities by monitoring system health before, during, and after deployments.-Reporting & Communication-Provide timely and accurate incident updates to stakeholders and leadership.-Generate shift handover reports, incident summaries, and SLA metrics.-Contribute to incident post-mortems and root cause analysis (RCA) documentation.- Process & Continuous Improvement-Follow and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and runbooks.-Assist with automation of monitoring and response tasks where applicable.-Identify repetitive issues and recommend proactive solutions. Skills:
- Systems Knowledge Windows Server, Linux, Networking Basics, Datacenter Operations- Cloud & Virtualization AWS, Azure, VMware vSphere, Hyper-V (basic understanding)- Automation / Scripting PowerShell, Bash, Python (basic preferred)- Protocols / Concepts DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SNMP, Syslog, SSL/TLS- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.-Ability to work under pressure and prioritize in high-stress scenarios.-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.-Team player with a proactive mindset.
Additional Information:- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Microsoft Windows Server Administration.- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.- A 15 years full time education is required. Qualification 15 years full time education
