POSITION OVERVIEW

The Applications Engineering Manager reports to the Director of Engineering within the R&D group and is responsible to chart the direction and manage the execution of the Applications group. This position works closely with R&D engineering, OPM, Field Operations, Quality and Supply Chain to address any engineering or quality issues with released products identified in the field or through additional testing. The Applications Manager oversees the team and is responsible for continuous improvement of released products, management and execution of the RFI system, addressing field failures and characterization and improvement of tracker performance as.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with Manager Applications Engineering

• Define continuous improvement roadmap for released tracker products

• Work closely with Field Operations to understand and address field installation issues

• Support and define improvements in testing for tracker components

• Analysis and improvement of field performance

• Work closely with Quality and R&D to resolve field failures and provide technical oversight of proposed remediations

• Perform site assessment

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS, MS or PhD in technical discipline related to trackers (Mech Eng., Structural Eng. or equivalent)

• 3+ Years work experience in solar

• Previous supervisory experience or demonstrated experience managing people in teams / projects

• Demonstrated ability in problem solving

• Critical thinking

• Good communication skills both oral and written Organizational skills
