Android Developer - Backbase

• A Backbase Android Developer builds, maintains, and enhances native Android applications for digital banking, focusing on native technologies like Kotlin, Coroutines, and Jetpack Compose.
• Responsibilities include collaborating in cross-functional agile teams, writing clean and testable code, implementing new features, and ensuring high-quality, performant, and secure applications by participating in code reviews and testing.
• The role often involves integrating the product with customer systems, mentoring other developers, and contributing to architectural decisions.

Backbase on-hands experience:

• Familiarity with the Backbase product: Compiled the backbase product learnings and on-hands experience of live project for minimum of 1 year.
• Knowledge of the widget and journey architecture.
• Knowledge of the Backbase ecosystem and other core banking components which fits into typical banking applications.
• Backbase certification is added benefit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and other native frameworks.
• Integrate Backbase products seamlessly with customer systems.
• Collaborate within cross-functional agile teams to deliver features from concept to release.
• Write clean, testable, and performant code, taking ownership of testing and quality.
• Conduct and participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
• Contribute to innovation by experimenting with new technologies and features, such as biometric authentication.
• Support product development by gathering feedback, writing documentation, and providing product adoption support.
• Mentor and coach other developers, helping them grow their skills.

Key skills and qualifications

• Proven experience with native Android development, primarily in Kotlin, with Java experience as a plus.
• Familiarity with modern Android technologies like Coroutines, Flow, and Jetpack Compose.
• Understanding of mobile app architecture, security, and performance optimization.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with Backbase SDKs and integrations is a plus.
• Experience in the banking or fintech industry is a strong advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a "getting things done" mentality.
