Anchor or News Reporter

Role Overview: As a News Anchor, your primary role will be to conceptualize, pitch, and develop news segments based on popular interest and viewer demographics. You will collaborate with the newsroom staff to gather and organize news content, ensuring that the most interesting and timely pieces are presented first. Additionally, you will deliver live, scripted, prerecorded, and breaking news reports in the studio or in the field, covering a wide range of local, state, national, and international events. Your ability to remain comfortable and professional on camera and your passion for breaking news and current events will be key to your success in this role. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver live, scripted, prerecorded, and breaking news reports in the studio or field - Research news and current events at various levels - Conduct interviews with guests and community members involved in stories - Introduce news correspondents and journalists reporting live on the scene - Write and revise scripts, engage in commentary, and add late-breaking news to broadcasts - Comply with journalism ethics and standards, maintaining a professional appearance and manner throughout broadcasts Qualifications Required: - Proven media personality with comfort and professionalism on camera - Excellent verbal communication skills - Broad understanding of the newscast process - General knowledge of local, national, and international affairs - Passion for breaking news and current events - Ability to improvise on camera when necessary Preferred Qualifications: - Previous experience as a news anchor or broadcast reporter - Active social media presence - Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines - Ethical and professional research, writing, and reporting skills - Effective communication and interpersonal skills - Strong team player who can work collaboratively and independently Please share your resume to garimapal.hu@gmail.com for consideration.
