Analyst, SME

As an Analyst in SME & Transaction Banking at a small finance bank in Bangalore, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing SME lending opportunities across various sectors. Your role will involve collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to execute lending transactions and support ongoing portfolio monitoring. Key Responsibilities: - Originate and execute lending transactions for SME clients across sectors. - Build and maintain relationships with companies and founders. - Conduct financial analysis, risk assessment, and credit underwriting. - Prepare detailed credit / investment memos with industry, business, financial, and management assessment. - Present proposals to internal committees and lead end-to-end execution. - Collaborate with Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Operations departments. - Handle due diligence, negotiations, documentation, and closure. - Monitor portfolio companies through monthly MIS, covenant testing, and asset cover checks. - Maintain SOPs, compliance documents, and address internal audits or operational risk queries. Skills & Qualifications: - Education: CA, CFA, or MBA (Finance preferred). - Experience: 1 to 5 years in credit analysis, structured lending, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or transaction advisory. - Strong knowledge of financial statements, ratios, and financial modeling. - Exposure to sectors like consumer goods, healthcare, logistics, fintech, real estate, etc. - Working knowledge of legal and financial clauses in lending documents. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. - Excellent communication and presentation skills. - Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
