Job Description

As a part of Team Amex at American Express, you will be responsible for contacting clients with overdue accounts to secure the settlement of the account and perform preventive work to avoid future overdues with accounts that have a high exposure. In this role within the Data Issue Management & Risk Monitoring function of the Finance Data Governance organization, you will support the leadership in establishing and managing a comprehensive process for identifying, tracking, remediating, and monitoring data issues and risks that impact financial integrity, reporting, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will bring experience in data governance, issue and risk management, and a strong background in financial data within a highly regulated environment. **Key Responsibilities:** - Support the implementation of the Data Issue Management framework, including intake, assessment, classification, prioritization, root cause analysis, remediation, and closure validation. - Continuous monitoring of data risks and emerging data issues across key finance datasets/reports. - Implement risk-based monitoring protocols, including early warning indicators, risk heat maps, and control effectiveness metrics. - Maintain a centralized inventory of open and historical data issues, ensuring accurate documentation, traceability, and audit readiness. - Produce regular reporting and dashboards for senior leadership, risk committees, and regulatory stakeholders, highlighting risk concentrations, issue trends, and remediation effectiveness. **Minimum Qualifications:** - 2 - 5 years of experience in Finance and Controllership is preferred. - Strong relationship skills and communication are essential as this analyst will partner with multiple groups e.g., Business process owners, Technologies, and Enterprise Data Governance. - Self-motivated and proactive, ability to manage multiple assignments and projects concurrently. - Strong Excel, Power Point, and other technical skills. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - SQL knowledge preferred. - Ability to collect business requirements and use them to guide implementation of a technical solution. - Prior experience with data quality programs is preferred. - Good knowledge of Collibra is preferred. - Familiarity with Agile (Rally/Jira) or SAFE project methodologies. - Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Information Systems, or related field.,
