Analyst-Data Analytics

Role Overview: As a member of the Global Analytical & Insights team within Global Merchant and Network Services (GMNS) at American Express, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by managing Partner analytics, partner data quality, and building data capabilities. You will be a key player in supporting the automation and scaling of analytics using relevant data tools, focusing on data quality, and developing data tools that drive merchant value and engagement across channels. Your role will involve evaluating current reporting processes to identify opportunities for automation, eliminating redundancies, and addressing reporting gaps to support GMNS business strategy. Key Responsibilities: - Work in a dynamic, fast-changing environment with attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a track record of driving results through collaboration. - Support the automation and scaling of analytics using relevant data tools. - Focus on data quality by leveraging internal data systems. - Conceive and develop data tools/treatments to drive merchant value and enhance merchant engagement. - Understand how GMNS business strategy is supported by existing analytical solutions and emerging data capabilities. - Evaluate current reporting processes to identify opportunities for automation, eliminate redundancies, and address reporting gaps. Qualifications: - Strong analytical skills to interpret data and understand complex processes for providing meaningful insights to inform business strategy. - Highly motivated individual with excellent project management skills. - Passionate, flexible, and positive attitude towards work. - Ability to adapt effectively under changing conditions and prioritize initiatives in a fast-paced environment. - Proficient in working with unstructured data. - Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. - Strong presentation skills. - Undergraduate degree required; MBA or similar advanced degree preferred. - Programming expertise in SQL, Python, and/or Hive; advanced Microsoft Excel skills essential. - Knowledge of Cornerstone and Google Cloud platform essential. - Experience in the merchant business preferred.
