Amazon Lex Developer

Role Summary We are seeking a skilled developer with at least 3 years of experience to design, build, and deploy conversational bots using AWS Lex and Amazon Connect. The ideal candidate will be proficient in JavaScript and Node.js, experienced in deploying bots to WhatsApp as a channel, and comfortable working in omnichannel environments.

Key Responsibilities 1. Design, develop, and maintain conversational bots using AWS Lex and integrate with Amazon Connect. 2. Implement bot backend logic and integrations using JavaScript/Node.js (Lambda or container-based services). 3. Deploy and configure bots on WhatsApp (via supported providers or AWS integrations) and other channels as part of an omnichannel strategy. 4. Build and maintain APIs and middleware to connect Lex bots with CRM, databases, and third-party services. 5. Configure contact flows, routing, and telephony settings within Amazon Connect. 6. Create and maintain intents, slots, utterances, slot validation, and dialogue management for Lex. 7. Implement session management, persistent context, and fallback/error handling across channels. 8. Develop monitoring, logging, and alerting for bot performance, user experience, and issue resolution. 9. Collaborate with UX designers, product owners, and QA to deliver conversational experiences and iterate based on analytics and user feedback.

Required Skills & Experience 1. Minimum 3 years total experience in software development with demonstrable work on conversational bots. 2. Strong experience building bots using AWS Lex. 3. Hands-on experience integrating and configuring Amazon Connect. 4. Proficient in JavaScript and Node.js for backend and Lambda development. 5. Experience deploying bots to WhatsApp (via WhatsApp Business API / third-party providers / Twilio / Meta integrations or AWS-supported paths). 6. Demonstrable omnichannel experience chat, voice, and messaging channels integration and context continuity. 7. Familiarity with AWS services: Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, and optionally SNS/SQS. 8. Experience with authentication, secure integrations, and data privacy best practices. 9. Ability to write clear technical documentation and deliverables. 10. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in agile teams.
