Amazon DMS Developer

We are looking for an experienced Amazon DMS Developer with 4+ years of expertise in cloud-based data migration using AWS DMS. The role involves designing and executing secure, scalable, and efficient migration solutions across heterogeneous and homogeneous databases. Strong knowledge of AWS services, data modeling, and problem-solving is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement data migration solutions using AWS DMS for heterogeneous and homogeneous database migrations.

Migrate data from on-premises and cloud databases (SQL Server,PostgreSQL, S3) to AWS targets.

Configure DMS replication instances, tasks, and endpoints for both full load and CDC (Change Data Capture) scenarios.

Optimize migration performance, throughput, and error handling in DMS jobs.

Perform data validation, reconciliation, and testing to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Troubleshoot migration issues and resolve schema conversion challenges.

Collaborate with data engineering, DBA, and cloud teams to align migration strategies.

Ensure compliance with data security, governance, and best practices during migration.

Provide documentation, monitoring, and post-migration support.

Hands-on experience with AWS DMS (configuring replication instances, endpoints, and tasks).

Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL Server.

Solid understanding of CDC (Change Data Capture), replication, and schema conversion.

Proficiency in SQL scripting and performance tuning.

Experience with AWS ecosystem (RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, Glue) is a plus.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with AWS SCT (Schema Conversion Tool) for schema transformation.

Familiarity with other ETL tools (Glue, Informatica, Talend, etc.).

Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for migration jobs.

Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and security best practices.
