Assistant Manager - RCM Training Position Position Position Position

Position summary

Key responsibilities Training strategy and development

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive training strategy for all RCM roles, including new hire onboarding, cross-skilling, and ongoing professional development.
  • Collaborate with operations, quality assurance, and other departments to identify training needs and performance gaps.
  • Design and develop training content, including presentations, manuals, job aids, and eLearning modules, that meet business needs and client expectations.

Training delivery and facilitation

  • Lead and facilitate engaging training sessions for new and existing employees, covering all RCM functions from patient access to collections and denials management.
  • Customize training modules based on specific client requirements, payer guidelines (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid), and technology platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
  • Conduct "Train-the-Trainer" (TTT) programs to ensure consistency and quality across all trainers.

Performance management

  • Conduct pre-assessments, mid-evaluations, and final certification of trainees to track and ensure mastery of skills.
  • Partner with operational managers to analyze team performance data and develop targeted retraining plans for individuals or groups with identified skill gaps.
  • Track key training metrics, such as time-to-proficiency, training effectiveness, and post-training productivity, and present reports to senior management.

Team leadership

  • Supervise, mentor, and coach a team of RCM trainers and content developers.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support the professional growth of team members.

Compliance and quality assurance

  • Ensure all training programs adhere to US healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and compliance with payer-specific policies.
  • Calibrate with quality assurance (QA) teams to ensure training content and delivery are aligned with production expectations and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of training records, certifications, and process materials for audits.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 58 years of experience in US Healthcare RCM, with at least 23 years in a training or leadership capacity.
  • In-depth, end-to-end knowledge of RCM processes, including:
    • Patient Access (eligibility, authorization, registration)
    • Medical Billing & Coding (ICD-10, CPT)
    • Accounts Receivable (AR) Follow-up, Denials, and Appeals
  • Proven ability to design, develop, and deliver effective training materials and programs.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Preferred

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CPC, CCS, AHM).
  • Experience with specific RCM or EHR software (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
  • Experience working in a BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) environment.
