Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Operations Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure; ensuring optimal performance; reliability; and security. This role involves collaboration with various teams to support and enhance our cloud-based solutions and services. Key Responsibilities: Cloud Infrastructure Management: o Deploy; manage; and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure and resources including IaaS; PaaS; VPC; VNet o Monitor system performance; availability; and security using Azure Monitor; Log Analytics; and other tools. o Monitor and assist in managing virtual machines; virtual networks; and storage solutions. o Assist with deployment and management of Azure App Services; Azure SQL Database; and other PaaS offerings. Automation and Optimization: o Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell; Azure CLI; and other tools to streamline cloud operations. o Implement Automation for patching; monitoring; backup; DR (ASR); Antivirus scanning Security and Compliance: o Implement and enforce security best practices and policies for cloud infrastructure. o Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. o Manage identity and access management using Azure Active Directory and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). Incident and Problem Management: o Respond to and resolve cloud infrastructure incidents and issues to meet promised SLAs. o Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence. o Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of incidents; changes; and configurations. Collaboration and Support: o Work closely with development; DevOps; and other IT teams to support cloud-based applications and services. o Provide guidance and training to team members on Azure best practices and operational procedures. o Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical cloud operations. Continuous Improvement: o Stay updated with the latest Azure features; services; and industry trends. o Propose and implement improvements to enhance the performance; scalability; and reliability of cloud infrastructure. Technical Skills: o Proficiency in Azure services such as Azure Virtual Machines; Azure Storage; Azure Networking; Azure functions and Azure Active Directory. o Experience with automation tools like PowerShell; Azure CLI; ARM templates; and terraform. o Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices. o Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor; Log Analytics; and Application Insights. Preferred Qualifications: Azure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate; Azure Solutions Architect Expert; or similar. Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes. Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools. Work Environment: This position may require occasional after-hours or weekend work to support critical operations.
