About the Role:

AIX System Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain
IBM AIX operating systems
on Power Systems hardware.
Manage
LPARs, VIO servers
, and
PowerVM virtualization environments
.
Perform
system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
of AIX servers.
Implement and manage
user accounts, file systems, permissions, and storage configurations
.
Schedule and manage
system backups, restores, and disaster recovery operations
using tools like
TSM / Spectrum Protect
.
Apply
patches, firmware updates, and OS upgrades
as per organizational standards.
Maintain
high availability (HACMP/PowerHA)
and
clustering configurations
for mission-critical systems.
Support and coordinate with
database administrators, application teams, and network engineers
for smooth operations.
Automate routine tasks using
shell scripting (ksh, bash, Perl, or Python)
.

Preferred Skills :

Experience with
Linux or Solaris administration
.
Knowledge of
PowerHA (HACMP) clustering
and
disaster recovery configurations
.
Familiarity with
cloud or hybrid AIX environments (IBM Cloud, PowerVS)
.
Exposure to
automation/configuration management tools
(Ansible, Puppet).
Experience with
monitoring tools
such as
Nagios, Splunk, or Tivoli Monitoring
.
