Job Description

Job Purpose:

Respond promptly during incident / accident / emergencies at Airport & its near vicinity within the stipulated statutory response time as per International Civil Aviation Organization & Director General of Civil Aviation guidelines to provide firefighting, rescue and first aid services to save life & property and restore normalcy at the earliest.

Key Elements of the Role

  • To ensure upkeep of fire vehicles (Crash Fire Tender) and its equipment.
  • To supervise the Firefighters during Breathing Apparatus Cylinder filling as per laid down regulations and manufacturer s instructions.
  • To participate in classes, lectures, practical and physical training, refresher trainings to enhance job efficiency and technical skills,100% attendance in mandatory trainings and Individual Training Record.
  • To conduct routine radio communication tests and inspections with ARFF Watch Tower and ATC and to maintain records.
  • Should be able to infuse discipline and motivation among the team members for effective accomplishment of task.

Key Result Areas & Outcomes expected from the Role

  • The Officer ARFF Operations directs and participates in firefighting operations, CFT driving, Domestic fire tender operations, optimum

    equipment operations activities

    .

  • To respond to aircraft emergencies with Crash Fire Tender along with Firefighters by achieving response time stipulated by the regularity authorities and to operate the CFT for the extinguishment and control of fire.
  • Achieving the response time and control time during emergency calls. Logbooks and fire vehicle response records.
  • To respond to aircraft refuelling standby, fuel spillage, Dangerous goods stand by with Crash Fire Tender along with Firefighters and to mitigate the hazards.
  • To respond to domestic fires involving airport buildings and facilities, Grass/bush fires with domestic Fire Tender along with Firefighters and to operate the fire tenders for the extinguishment and control of fire and to mitigate the hazards.
  • To conduct the daily inspection of Fire vehicles for its roadworthiness and serviceability and to maintain records and to timely report to Duty Officer regarding any unserviceability or defects in Fire Vehicles and to maintain the records.


Educational Qualification

Essential:

  • Graduate in any stream with valid Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) Driving License.
  • Should possess Basic Firefighting certification from Aviation Fire Training Centre.


Desired:

Technical / Functional Skills:

  • Possess Fire Officers Course Certification f

  • GIFE, MIFE or DO/BE from NFSC Nagpur.
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic first Aid certificate

Experience:

He should have at least 12- 15years’ experience of working with Aviation Fire Service or Ex Servicemen from Indian Navy (AH) / IAF (AFSO)
