Position Name : AGM/DGM - Quality Control -DRI

Location : Chaliyama

Qualification :

Experience : Min. 16+

Job purpose:

The Incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and ensure the quality standards of 600 TPD Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the quality control processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards, optimizing QC practices, and maintaining high-quality product output.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Control & Assurance:

• Ensure strict adherence to quality standards for raw materials, intermediate products, and finished DRI.
• Implement and monitor quality control measures at each stage of DRI production.
• Develop and enforce quality policies, procedures, and best practices.

• Process Monitoring & Optimization:

• Conduct chemical, physical, and metallurgical analysis of raw materials (iron ore, coal, pellets) and finished DRI.
• Monitor process parameters to enhance DRI yield, reduce impurities, and maintain consistent quality.
• Identify quality deviations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

• Laboratory & Testing Management:

• Oversee laboratory operations for material testing, including Spectroscopy, XRF, XRD, TGA, and other quality assessment techniques.
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of lab equipment to maintain testing accuracy.
• Develop and standardize test procedures and ensure compliance with national and international quality standards.

• Regulatory Compliance & Certification:

• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, BIS, and other industry quality standards.
• Lead internal and external quality audits, ensuring regulatory approvals and certifications.
• Maintain quality records, reports, and documentation as per industry norms.

• Vendor & Raw Material Quality Management:

• Evaluate raw material suppliers for consistency in quality parameters.
• Develop and implement quality assurance plans for raw material procurement.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of incoming raw materials.

• Team Leadership & Training:

• Lead and mentor the Quality Control team to ensure effective execution of quality procedures.
• Conduct training programs for QC and production teams on quality standards, defect analysis, and corrective measures.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence.

• Safety & Environmental Compliance:

• Ensure safe handling and disposal of quality control samples and chemicals.
• Work closely with the Environment & Safety team to maintain compliance with pollution control norms.
