Freelance Assignment Senior EHS Consultant (Railway Projects)

Project 1: IS 14418:1996-Based EHS Audit – Rail-Mounted Bulk Handling Equipment

• Conduct multi-site EHS & engineering compliance audits of rail-mounted equipment (e.g., loaders, rail tracks, buffers).
  
• Evaluate mechanical, structural, operational safety as per

  IS 14418:1996

• Prepare audit reports, compliance matrices, risk registers, and deviation summaries.
  
• Sites include metro depots, rail yards, component facilities.
  

Project 2: EHS Consultancy for Railway Track Doubling (50+ km Stretch)

• 30-month engagement combining

  remote consultancy

  and

  periodic site visits

  .
• Services include:
  
• Inception workshops, safety plan & drawing vetting.
  
• Monthly remote reviews & dashboard updates.
  
• Quarterly EHS audits and monthly site verifications.
  
• Final compliance documentation and certification.
  

Consultant Requirements:

• Experience:

  Minimum 15–20 years in Indian Railways infrastructure, EHS audits, or engineering design.

• Expertise in:

• IS 14418:1996

  , IRSOD, RDSO Manuals, NBC, and temporary works safety.
• EHS design vetting, LOTO, construction safety, height work, and bridge works.
  

• Deliverables:

• Editable Word and signed PDF reports.
  
• Timely submissions (5–7 days from site visit or document receipt).
  
• Strong coordination with central and site teams.
  

Deliverables Per Assignment:

• IS 14418 compliance audit reports with scorecards.
  
• Composite compliance matrix and risk register.
  
• Safety plan and design drawing comments with trackable outcomes.
  
• Monthly trend dashboards and red-flag alerts.
  
• Final certification of compliance for each phase.
  

Compensation:

• As per experience and deliverables (negotiable per site/project).
  
• Travel, lodging, and boarding will be reimbursed as per actuals/project norms.
  
• Payment will be milestone-based (per audit/visit/report).
