Job Summary

GST and tax-related compliance

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable Responsibilities

  • Prepare, verify, and issue customer invoices in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate accounts receivable records and customer ledgers.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Perform regular customer account reconciliations.
  • Allocate and post customer receipts against invoices.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and customer queries promptly.
  • Prepare aging reports and assist in credit control activities.
  • Coordinate with sales and operations teams regarding billing and collections.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing related to receivables.

GST & Tax-Related Responsibilities

  • Ensure

    GST-compliant invoicing

    (HSN/SAC codes, GST rates, place of supply, etc.).
  • Calculate and apply correct GST on sales invoices.
  • Maintain GST records for outward supplies and receivables.
  • Prepare data for

    GST returns

    (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and other applicable returns).
  • Reconcile sales and receivables data with GST portal returns.
  • Track and follow up on customer

    GST input credit mismatches

    .
  • Assist in GST audits, notices, and departmental queries.
  • Coordinate with tax consultants for GST filings and compliance.
  • Ensure timely payment of GST liabilities related to sales.
  • Support compliance with

    TDS/TCS

    (if applicable) related to receivables.
  • Maintain documentation for tax audits and statutory requirements.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare monthly AR reports, collection status, and GST summaries.
  • Maintain proper documentation for invoices, credit notes, and tax records.
  • Support internal and external audits with required data and explanations.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of

    Accounts Receivable processes

  • Working knowledge of

    GST laws and tax compliance

  • Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Good communication and follow-up skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance
  • Professional certification (CA Inter, CMA Inter, or equivalent) preferred
  • 2–5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable with GST exposure

  • Reduction in outstanding receivables and DSO
  • Accuracy of invoicing and GST calculations
  • Timely collection and reconciliations
  • On-time GST return preparation and compliance
  • Audit observations related to AR and GST
