Job Title : Sr. Manager Department : Engineering & Projects Reporting To : Chief Operating Officer Job Purpose The Sr. Manager - Engineering & Projects will oversee the Engineering and Projects vertical overseeing all technical operations, MEPC (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Civil), Fire & Life Safety (FLS), and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) functions. The role will focus on ensuring operational stability, cost efficiency, project profitability, innovation, and compliance across client portfolios. The incumbent will be responsible for strategic planning, project execution, stakeholder management, and continuous improvement in engineering and technical services delivery. Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Leadership Develop and implement strategic plans for Engineering & Projects within the IFMS business. Establish and lead the Engineering vertical as an independent function with defined goals, KPIs, and business targets. Drive organizational alignment between technical operations and overall business strategy. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams across regions and sites. Define and enforce best practices for engineering operations, safety, and sustainability. Project Management Oversee end-to-end delivery of all engineering projects, ensuring adherence to scope, quality, timelines, and budgets. Drive MEPC and EHS projects across all client sites - approximately 80% MEPC & FLS, 20% other services. Establish standardized processes for project planning, execution, monitoring, and review. Conduct periodic site assessments, audits, and reviews to ensure adherence to technical and safety standards. Drive project profitability by optimizing resource utilization and cost management. Facility Maintenance & Technical Operations Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all technical assets and facilities. Drive effective repair and maintenance of housekeeping machinery, technical systems, and building equipment. Ensure operational stability and zero downtime through proactive maintenance and technical reliability. Develop SOPs for all engineering services, ensuring consistent implementation and periodic review. Promote energy management, sustainability, and environmental conservation initiatives across sites. Financial Management & Budgeting Prepare and manage annual budgets for Engineering & Projects. Ensure cost-effective operations while maintaining service quality and compliance. Review and approve project estimates, procurement costs, and rate contracts for engineering vendors. Track and report project P&L performance and profitability metrics. Support finance teams in billing, forecasting, and variance analysis for engineering projects. Compliance, Risk & EHS Management Ensure 100% compliance with statutory, safety, and environmental regulations across all engineering functions. Drive EHS culture across all projects by implementing preventive measures and risk mitigation plans. Conduct regular safety audits, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) reviews. Lead incident investigations and ensure lessons learned are institutionalized. Maintain accurate records of certifications, licenses, and inspections. Stakeholder & Client Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders. Collaborate with Business Development teams for technical proposals, presentations, and client onboarding. Ensure alignment between client expectations and engineering service delivery. Provide technical inputs during contract negotiations and new project transitions. Ensure customer feedback is actively collected, analyzed, and acted upon. Innovation, Technology & Continuous Improvement Introduce emerging technologies, automation, and smart systems to enhance operational efficiency. Evaluate and implement digital platforms for maintenance, project tracking, and reporting. Drive continuous improvement and benchmarking initiatives across all engineering domains. Identify cost reduction and performance improvement opportunities through technology integration. Champion energy audits and sustainable engineering practices. Team Development & Capability Building Build and lead a high-performing team of engineers, project managers, and EHS professionals. Identify training needs and collaborate with L&D for technical and behavioral training programs. Mentor and develop next-line leadership for succession planning. Encourage a culture of innovation, safety, and accountability within the team. Support HR in identifying and recruiting the right technical talent for projects. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Timely and within-budget completion of projects. Achievement of project profitability and cost optimization targets. Reduction in downtime and improvement in equipment reliability. Compliance with statutory, safety, and EHS standards. Client satisfaction scores and retention rates. Successful implementation of technology and automation initiatives. Employee skill development and team retention metrics. Qualifications and Experience Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Civil) from a recognized institution. 12-16 years of experience in Engineering, Projects, or Facilities Management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven track record in managing large-scale MEPC and IFMS projects. Strong understanding of building systems, MEP operations, sustainability, and compliance frameworks. Experience in budgeting, vendor management, and multi-location project delivery. Certification in EHS, ISO standards, or Project Management (PMP/ Prince2) preferred. Skills and Competencies Strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation abilities. In-depth knowledge of technical systems, EHS, and engineering project delivery. Strategic thinking with strong execution orientation. Ability to drive innovation, process excellence, and continuous improvement. Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management tools.
