Role & responsibilities

Financial Strategy and Planning

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic goals.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
• Provide strategic recommendations to senior management based on financial performance and market analysis.
• Oversee the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) to track financial progress.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial considerations are integrated into business decisions.

Cost Accounting and Inventory Management

• Ensure compliance with inventory management policies and procedures.
• Implement and maintain standard costing methodologies for accurate product costing.
• Manage inventory accounting, ensuring accurate valuation and control of inventory levels.
• Analyze manufacturing costs and identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Oversee the accurate costing of pharmaceutical products, including raw materials, labor, and overhead.
• Establish and maintain robust cost accounting systems in compliance with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).

Treasury and Financial Compliance

• Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations and ensure their timely implementation.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
• Manage the company's tax planning and compliance, working with external tax advisors as needed.
• Oversee the preparation and filing of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Manage the company's treasury functions, including cash management, banking relationships, and investments.

Audit and Risk Management

• Conduct periodic internal audits to assess the effectiveness of financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with internal audit recommendations and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of risk management controls.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework to identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks.
• Address audit findings and implement corrective actions to improve internal controls and compliance.
• Manage the company's audit process, coordinating with external auditors and ensuring timely completion of audits.

Leadership and Team Management

• Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the finance department and with other departments.
• Provide mentorship and development opportunities to team members.
• Set clear goals and expectations for team members and monitor their progress.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
• Lead and manage the finance and accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.

ERP Systems and Financial Reporting

• Collaborate with IT department to ensure ERP systems are up-to-date and secure.
• Provide training and support to users on ERP system functionalities.
• Utilize ERP systems to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
• Develop and generate timely and accurate financial reports for management and stakeholders.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data within ERP systems.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of ERP systems to support financial operations.
