Designation: Accounts & Finance Head (Lending/ Trading / Investments)

Qualification: M.com required; CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) preferred.

Experience:

- 7 to12 years in accounting & finance.

- Exposure to trading / investment accounting and broker coordination preferred.

Role Overview

The Accounts & Finance Head will manage the complete finance function of the family office/corporate entity including accounting, investments, lending, compliance, and MIS. The role focuses on accuracy, controls, regulatory readiness, and clear financial visibility for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Control

- Maintain books of accounts - GL, AP, AR, and bank reconciliations.

- Monthly / quarterly closing of accounts and preparation of Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.

- Ensure proper GST, TDS, and Income Tax entries and reconciliations.

- Coordinate statutory, tax, and internal audits.

- Strengthen internal controls, documentation, and maker-checker processes.

2. Investments & Share Market Accounting

- Record and reconcile trades across demat/broker accounts.

- Post and verify broker contract notes - quantities, prices, brokerage, taxes and charges.

- Track MTM, realized gains/losses, dividends, and capital gains.

- Maintain script-wise and portfolio-wise ledgers.

- Prepare periodic investment summaries and performance MIS.

- Coordinate with brokers on trades, margins, settlements, and statements.

3. Banking & Treasury Management

- Monitor daily bank balances and cash flows.

- Process payments, transfers, vendor payouts, approvals, and reconciliations.

- Plan availability of funds for trading, investments, and operations.

- Maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions.

4. Compliance, Documentation & Regulatory Coordination

- Maintain well-organized digital archives - ledgers, contracts, contract notes, tax filings, statements, and approvals.

- Keep audit-ready files with backups and version control.

Scrutiny / Assessments (IT, GST, SEBI, others):

- Collect and compile data for scrutiny, inquiries, and assessments.

- Prepare structured data packs - reconciliations, ledgers, workings, and proofs.

- Track notices, submissions, hearings, and deadlines.

- Coordinate with CAs, consultants, and legal advisors; draft initial responses.

- Maintain a register of all notices and outcomes with proper documentation.

Legal & Case Support:

- Collate documents for appeals, hearings, and legal cases.

- Maintain case folders and follow up on next steps.

Regulatory Compliance:

- Support timely filing of tax returns and statutory obligations.

- Assist with SEBI / exchange-related compliance where applicable.

- Create simple SOPs and checklists for compliance processes.

5. Lending & Loans / Advances - Basic Accounting

- Record loans and advances given - party-wise and agreement-wise.

- Pass entries for disbursement, interest accrual, receipts, and repayments.

- Track outstanding balances and instalments due.

- Prepare bank reconciliations related to lending transactions.

- Follow up on repayments and interest dues.

- Maintain agreements, schedules, repayment receipts, and confirmations.

6. Investments in Other Businesses - Monitoring & MIS

- Maintain records of investments in group / associate / partner companies.

- Track capital contributions, shareholding, and movements.

- Collect monthly financials from investee companies.

- Prepare Business MIS highlighting revenue, margins, profit, cash flow, debt and variances vs plan.

- Provide a consolidated monthly report to management.

- Flag early warning signals - losses, liquidity pressure, or compliance gaps.

Skills:

- Strong accounting & tax knowledge.

- Good command of Excel and accounting software (Tally/ERP).

- Detail-oriented, process-driven, with high integrity and confidentiality.

Preferred Exposure (Good to Have)

- Family office, trading firm, investment company experience.

- Capital gains computations and portfolio MIS.

- Working with auditors, consultants, and regulators.
