Job Summary:

We are hiring for the post of Academic Counselor to help students with academic decisions, career planning, and personal growth. The counselor should guide students in setting goals, choosing courses, and improving study skills. They also should support students with academic challenges, career advice, and personal issues that may affect their performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide students in selecting appropriate courses, programs, and career pathways.
• Counsel students in managing:
• Academic stress and workload balance.
• Peer pressure and its impact on decision-making.
• Personal and family issues affecting academic performance.
• Stress management techniques for emotional well-being.
• Social anxiety and confidence-building.
• Other student-related issues that may hinder growth.
• Provide mentorship and create individualized academic/career plans.
• Conduct workshops on time management, study skills, and emotional resilience.
• Collaborate with faculty, parents, and administrators to ensure holistic student support.
• Maintain confidential records of counselling sessions and student progress.
• Keep updated with educational trends, admission opportunities, and scholarship programs.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 8 - 12 years of mid- Level experience in student counselling, academic advising, or career guidance (Beginner Level with relevant certifications may also be considered).
• Ability to handle academic stress, peer pressure, social anxiety, personal/family issues, and other student-related challenges with empathy and professionalism.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (knowledge of local/regional language is an added advantage).
• Strong rapport-building, mentoring, and motivational abilities to connect with students of diverse backgrounds.
• Capable of assessing student needs and providing effective solutions and action plans.
• Ability to manage multiple counselling cases, maintain accurate records, and coordinate workshops or sessions.
• Comfortable using MS Office, student management systems, and online platforms for virtual counselling.
• Patient, approachable, empathetic, and a good listener with a genuine passion for student success.
