Inside sales representatives, also known as inside sales executives, closers, or reps, sell products or services to customers from an office using virtual communication tools. Their responsibilities include: Identifying new sales opportunities Using industry directories, mailing lists, and other methods to find new leads Researching potential customers Gathering information about a customer's business needs, annual revenue, and current suppliers Building relationships with customers Answering customer calls, making follow-up calls, and developing relationships to encourage trust and loyalty Negotiating sales terms Working with customers to negotiate a customized sales package, including discounts and after-sale services Collaborating with the sales team Directing online leads to sales executives and working closely with marketing and product teams Demonstrating products and services Explaining the features and functions of products and services to customers Setting and meeting sales goals Working to meet sales goals and objectives set by leadership Maintaining and improving the database of prospects Keeping up to date with product and service information and competitor offers Upselling products and services Suggesting related and new items to customers
