AECOM is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Engineer - Water Infrastructure to be based in Bengaluru/Gurgaon/Mumbai, India. Candidates will be responsible for the following activities: 12+ Years (Exposure to outside India projects preferably UK, USA, Canada, MER & ANZ region ) Having hands on experience for Design of wet utilities - Potable Water, Storm Water Drainage, Highway Drainage, Treated Sewage Effluent & Sewerage network (pressure plus gravity design experience with the help of AutoCAD 2D, AutoCAD Civil3D, Open Roads & MicroStation) Capable of designing the pumping stations, general arrangement, road/bridge crossing structures, typical valve chambers etc. Having experience with any Hydraulic modeling tools like Water Hammer, Sewer GEMS/Infoworks ICM, Infoworks WS Pro/ WaterGEMS, Info Drainage, HEC-RAS would be advantage. Provide technical support to designers for relocation/shifting of assets, asset tagging, connection drawings, standard drawings etc. Clash Analysis experience using Navisworks Experience in working in Common Data Environment (ProjectWise, BIM 360, ACC) Capable for leading the project, coordinating with Lead Office, mentoring juniors and ensuring quality checks Should be capable of leading multiple projects with different geographical locations same time. Provides training and technical support to Engineers, designers on understanding design standards, adopting digital tools Additional skills like team management, project management, resource planning, project budget planning, estimation is must Qualifications The successful candidate will have the following Qualifications: Masters in civil / water resources / Environment / PHE Preferable to have or working towards Professional Qualification such as C.Eng. (ICE) or C.Eng. (IET) or C. CIWEM. Good communication skills, and ability to work well independently at times. Able to see the bigger picture and take a birds-eye view of projects Confident, with the ability to work either independently or as part of a team. Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Undertaking design and planning activities on maritime projects - container terminals, mining/bulk, oil/gas, marinas, ports and harbors, offshore wind, coastal resiliency and development schemes Independently prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications and documents, and oversee the development of technical deliverables prepared by junior structural engineers. Oversee the work of junior structural engineers. Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings. Participate in the development of technical scope and design fee estimates in response to RFPs. Lead and coordinate marine team with other in-house and subconsultant engineering disciplines as needed. Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables. Work alongside a project manager to ensure technical and business-related successes of projects. Qualifications Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college or university. Design and develop instrumentation systems for water, wastewater, and desalination projects using Revit and/or Plant 3D software. Create and modify technical drawings and models based on verbal and visual instructions from project managers and engineers. Manage work-sets and control visibility in Revit and/or Plant 3D models to ensure efficient collaboration with team members. Utilize various parameters in Revit and/or Plant 3D families and schedules to optimize design processes. Integrate specifications into models using Revit and/or Plant 3D, ensuring compliance with project requirements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate instrumentation designs with other engineering disciplines. Perform quality control checks on instrumentation designs and drawings to maintain high standards of accuracy. Assist in the development of instrumentation design standards and best practices for the organization. Provide technical support and mentorship to junior designers and drafters. Participate in client meetings to present instrumentation designs and address technical queries. Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in water, wastewater, and desalination instrumentation systems. Contribute to the preparation of project proposals and cost estimates for instrumentation components. Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during project execution phases. Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations. Assist in the development of equipment specifications and procurement documents for instrumentation systems. Qualifications Diploma (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college, institute or university. 7 - 10 Years of experience in wastewater/water industry. Working Experience using Revit and/or Plant 3D and AutoCAD for water market-related designs. Drafting course from a recognised institute. Working experience using REVIT, AutoCAD and Microstation. Professional registration in their designated home office country or be in active pursuit of such registration. Demonstrated proficiency in instrumentation design for water, wastewater, and desalination projects. Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to water and wastewater instrumentation. Experience with project management and coordination in multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication and presentation skills for client interactions. Familiarity with equipment specifications and procurement processes for instrumentation systems. Ability to mentor junior designers and contribute to team development. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
