Role Description:

As a 2D Character Illustrator & Storyboard Cleanup Artist, you’ll design original and expressive characters that form the heart of our cinematic 2D universes. These include astrology-inspired deities, emotion-based archetypes, and beautifully detailed human characters — each crafted to visually embody the soul of our stories. Your work will define the visual tone and identity of our projects.

Alongside this, you’ll bridge the gap between raw storyboards and final animation — refining poses, maintaining proportions, and enhancing facial expressions so that every frame feels alive and emotionally true. You’ll collaborate closely with the storyboard artist and animators to transform rough sketches into clean, production-ready illustrations that retain both cinematic beauty and consistency. This role blends creativity and precision — perfect for artists who love both world-building and visual storytelling.

Responsibilities:

Create new character illustrations from written briefs and descriptions when needed.

Create full-body character turn-around sheets for each new or existing character.

Take rough storyboard frames and convert them into clean, detailed illustrations with correct proportions and facial consistency.

Add facial expressions, refine poses, and enhance visual storytelling based on given direction.

Maintain style consistency across multiple episodes and character appearances.

Collaborate with animators to ensure assets are clean and production-ready.

Work closely with the creative director to match the cinematic tone and mood of the series.

Requirements:

Strong drawing fundamentals — anatomy, perspective, and proportions.

Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop / Clip Studio Paint / Krita or equivalent digital art tools.

Ability to adapt to an established art style and maintain consistency.

Good sense of expression, silhouette, and visual clarity.

Attention to detail and patience for cleanup-heavy work

(Preferred but not mandatory) Prior experience in 2D animation pipelines or character cleanup work.
