>Analyze existing and anticipated system software needs and provide recommendations to ensure alignment with the organization's evolving requirements.
> Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for mainframe z/OS system programming, specializing in problem analysis and resolution.
> Offer expert-level support and mentorship to team members on technical matters.
> Review and propose updates to system software to ensure it supports both current operations and future organizational goals.
> Demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities and customer-focused support while resolving infrastructure and application issues on z/OS systems.
The ideal candidate will have validated expertise in z/OS, Unix System Services, SMP/E, REXX, Java, VSAM, BRMS, Tape Management, and ATL/VTL. Proven experience in supporting third-party/ISV products is essential. The individual should possess strong analytical skills to identify complex issues, propose effective solutions, and contribute to the development of new procedures or system enhancements. Responsibilities also include leading internal operations meetings (in absence of P1 incidents), supporting problem management trend analysis, and acting as a technical lead for projects impacting the z/OS platform. A customer-focused mindset, commitment to SLAs, and proactive approach to issue resolution are critical for success in this role.
