Locate containers within the yard using yard maps, handheld devices, or instructions from supervisors.
Verify container numbers, seal numbers, and physical condition before movement.
Ensure the right container is identified for loading, unloading, or dispatch.

2. Container Positioning & Placement

Guide equipment operators (such as reach stackers, forklifts, trailers) to place containers in the correct yard slots.
Ensure containers are placed in designated rows/blocks as per yard planning.
Maintain safe distance and follow yard safety protocols while directing equipment.

3. System Updates & Documentation

Update container location details in the system (Yard Management System YMS).
Record movements such as inbound, outbound, shifting, stuffing, destuffing, etc.
Ensure real-time and accurate data entry to avoid container misplacement.

4. Coordination with Yard & Operations Team

Communicate with supervisors, planners, and equipment operators for smooth yard operations.
Assist in executing yard plans and movement schedules.
Coordinate during peak operations to ensure efficient flow.

6. Safety Compliance

Follow all yard safety rules and PPE requirements.
Stay alert to moving equipment and maintain safe operating practices.
Report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.
