X ray & CT Tech technician

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate X-ray and CT equipment to produce diagnostic images according to physician orders.
• Explain procedures to patients, answer their questions, and ensure their comfort and safety.
• Prepare and position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Adjust equipment settings based on the examination being performed and the patient’s needs.
• Follow radiation safety procedures to protect patients, staff, and self.
• Evaluate images for quality and notify radiologists of any abnormalities.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document imaging procedures in electronic health records (EHR).
• Assist radiologists and physicians during procedures as needed.
• Monitor equipment performance and report malfunctions or arrange repairs.
• Ensure rooms and equipment are clean, stocked, and ready for each procedure.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate’s degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Certification:
• Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography (R) required.
• CT certification (CT) preferred or required depending on the facility.
• Licensure: State licensure (if applicable).
• Experience: Prior experience in a clinical imaging environment preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and radiographic positioning.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations.
• Proficient in using imaging software and PACS.

Work Environment:

• Hospital, imaging center, or outpatient clinic setting.
• May require evening, night, weekend, or holiday shifts.
• Physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting patients, and operating heavy machinery.
