Workday Senior IT Architecture Expert

Role Overview We are seeking an accomplished Global HR Systems & Integrations Manager to lead the systems & integrations workstream for HR in our global Workday implementation. In this player-coach role, you will mentor and lead a small team of Systems & Integrations Analysts while leading the assessment, integration and decommissioning approach for local HR legacy software platforms across 39 countries during our implementation project. You will collaborate with local HR & IT teams, global stakeholders, and our system implementation partner to ensure quality and consistency in all systems & integrations activities. Beyond execution, you will set standards, best practices, and embed change management practices that enable global adoption of Workday, whilst also ensuring that any data flows between systems are clearly documented and approved. This is a high-impact role with both strategic and hands-on responsibilities, demanding strong leadership, technical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for assessing, integrating, and decommissioning local HR systems.
• Lead the HR Systems and Integrations Specialists and manage project timelines and deliverables.
• Liaise with local HR and IT teams in each of the 39 countries to catalogue existing HR systems and understand their functions.
• Lead the critical review process on whether to decommission a system, implement an automated integration, or establish a manual data process.
• Oversee the design and documentation of data flows and integration requirements between Workday and retained local systems.
• Track current costs of systems and any potential savings through the migration to Workday.
• Provide clear and transparent updates on progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all HR systems and integrations-related queries.
• Partner with system implementation teams to resolve challenges and ensure accountability.
• Support UAT and E2E testing activities by validating data flows in integrations, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring readiness for cutover.
• Ensure all integration and data processes comply with global data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR).
• Document recurring issues, UAT findings, and resolutions to create a knowledge base for future cycles.
• Report on project progress, risks, and issues to the program management and HR

• Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a large-scale, global HR technology implementation.
• Strong knowledge of HR processes and systems, with a focus on Workday.
• Experience with system integrations, data migration, and project management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse cultures and business functions.
• Ability to think strategically and solve complex problems.
• Ability to anticipate challenges, develop comprehensive plans, and manage complex timelines to meet set project wide deadlines. Skilled in creating detailed roadmaps, resource allocation, and contingency planning to ensure seamless execution and minimize disruptions.
• Knowledge of GDPR and global HR data privacy. Adept at risk identification, mitigation, and secure handling of sensitive employee data.
