Job Description

WordPress Plugin Developer

PHP, WordPress core architecture, REST APIs, and modern JavaScript frameworks

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain
custom WordPress plugins
, shortcodes, and admin panels.
Integrate WordPress with
third-party APIs (HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, WooCommerce, Payment Gateways, etc.)
.
Optimize plugin performance, scalability, and security.
Build modular, reusable plugin frameworks for SaaS or Marketplace distribution.
Develop
Gutenberg blocks
and custom REST endpoints for headless WordPress setups.
Debug, test, and document plugins for compatibility with latest WordPress versions.
Collaborate with UI/UX, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure seamless integration with themes and frontends.
Maintain
version control (Git)
and adhere to WordPress coding standards.
Ensure compliance with
WordPress.org plugin repository guidelines
for public releases.

Required Technical Skills

Strong proficiency in
PHP, MySQL, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3
.
Deep understanding of
WordPress core, hooks, actions, filters, and REST API
.
Experience in developing and deploying
custom plugins from scratch
.
Knowledge of
OOP in PHP
and MVC frameworks (Laravel experience is a plus).
Familiarity with
ReactJS / VueJS
for Gutenberg blocks or front-end integrations.
Experience with
Composer, npm, Webpack
, and modern build pipelines.
Understanding of
WordPress security, sanitization, and data validation
.
Ability to handle
multi-site WordPress environments
.

Preferred Skills (Plus Points)

Experience publishing plugins on
WordPress.org
or selling on
Envato/CodeCanyon
.
Knowledge of
WooCommerce plugin development
and payment gateway integration.
Familiarity with
CI/CD pipelines
, Docker, or cloud-based deployment.
Understanding of
WordPress headless (WPGraphQL, Next.js)
setups.
