Wordpress Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior WordPress Developer with 8–12 years of hands-on

experience in WordPress development, customization, and maintenance. The ideal candidate

will have a deep understanding of WordPress architecture, plugin/theme development,

performance optimization, and security best practices.

You will be responsible for leading projects, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring the

delivery of high-quality, scalable, and user-friendly WordPress solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins.

• Customize and extend existing WordPress functionality to meet business requirements.

• Ensure website performance, scalability, and security.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize WordPress websites.

• Collaborate with designers, content teams, and backend developers for seamless project

delivery.

• Stay updated with the latest WordPress trends, tools, and industry practices.

• Perform code reviews, guide team members, and ensure adherence to coding standards.

• Manage end-to-end WordPress project lifecycles, from requirement gathering to

deployment.

Required Skills & Expertise

• Strong expertise in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX.

• Advanced knowledge of WordPress core, themes, plugins, hooks, and filters.

• Experience with custom theme development and plugin creation.

• Strong understanding of REST API integration with WordPress.

• Proficiency in page builders (Elementor, WPBakery, Divi, etc.).

• Experience in website optimization (speed, performance, SEO best practices).

• Knowledge of security practices and vulnerability management in WordPress.

• Hands-on experience with Git version control and deployment processes.

• Familiarity with WooCommerce and other popular WordPress integrations is a plus.

• Experience in managing large-scale WordPress projects with high traffic.

• Good English communication skills (written and verbal). Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

• 8–12 years of professional experience in WordPress development.
