GSPANN is hiring a Wireless Network Engineer to design, deploy, and manage Cisco wireless solutions. The role involves hands-on work with Cisco WLCs, Access Points, DNA Center, and ISE, ensuring high-performance, secure, and scalable wireless networks.Role and Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain Cisco wireless LAN (Local Area Network) solutions supporting IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax standards.
- Administer Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs), Lightweight Access Points (APs), and Mobility Anchors to ensure seamless wireless operations.
- Use tools like Cisco Digital Network Architecture Center (DNAC), Cisco Prime Infrastructure, or Ekahau to monitor and troubleshoot wireless performance, client connectivity issues, and interference.
- Implement and enforce wireless security policies including Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 and 3 (WPA2/WPA3), IEEE 802.1X authentication, MAC filtering, and guest network access.
- Configure Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) to support secure wireless authentication and policy enforcement.
- Perform RF (Radio Frequency) site surveys, analyze wireless coverage and capacity, and recommend design improvements.
- Coordinate firmware upgrades, apply patches, and tune performance to optimize wireless infrastructure.
- Document wireless network designs, policies, and standard operating procedures using appropriate network documentation tools.
- Collaborate with Network, Security, and Helpdesk teams to resolve complex or escalated wireless issues.
- Liaise with vendors and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) for technical support and advanced troubleshooting.
Skills And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise wireless networking, preferably in Cisco environments.
- Hold relevant certifications, including CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) Wireless.
- Earned Cisco Certified Specialist Enterprise Wireless Implementation certification.
- Demonstrate strong hands-on expertise with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (e.g., 5520, 9800 series), Cisco Access Points (e.g., 2700, 3700, 9100 series), Cisco DNA Center or Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
- Understand wireless networking standards (IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) thoroughly.
- Use RF planning and design tools such as Ekahau, AirMagnet, or NetSpot proficiently.
- Configure and manage WLC High Availability, FlexConnect, Guest Portals, and Quality of Service (QoS) effectively.
- Possess working knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts, including VLANs, Access Control Lists (ACLs), and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).
- Have practical experience with Cisco Software-Defined Access (SD-Access) and DNAC Assurance.
- Understand Meraki Wireless solutions, particularly in hybrid deployment environments.
- Apply excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills in real-time wireless issue resolution.
