Welding Supervisor

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Welding Supervisor to lead and manage welding operations in our sheet metal component manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate will ensure adherence to welding standards, process parameters, and quality requirements while driving productivity, safety, and continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities:

* Supervise and coordinate daily welding activities (MIG, Spot, Robotic).

* Plan manpower allocation, shift schedules, and ensure production targets are met.

* Monitor weld quality and ensure compliance with work instructions and control plans.

* Conduct in-process inspection and coordinate with Quality team for defect analysis.

* Ensure correct usage of welding jigs, fixtures, consumables, and electrodes.

* Train and guide welding operators on process discipline and safety practices.

* Maintain records of production, rejections, and equipment maintenance.

* Drive 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement activities in the welding section.

* Ensure safe working environment and compliance with all safety protocols.

Skills & Competencies:

* Strong technical knowledge of MIG/Spot/Robotic welding processes.

* Understanding of welding parameters, metallurgy, and defect prevention.

* Leadership and team management skills for handling operators and technicians.

* Familiarity with automotive quality standards (IATF 16949 / ISO 9001).

* Basic knowledge of welding equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.

* Good communication, planning, and problem-solving ability.

Qualification & Experience:

* Diploma / ITI in Mechanical / Fitter / Welding trade.

2–5 years of experience in sheet metal welding, including 1+ years in a supervisory role (preferably in automotive components manufacturing).
