Welding Engineer

Job Details

Job Title:

Qualifications

B.E / B.Tech in Welding / Metallurgical / Mechanical / Materials Engineering

Key Responsibilities

Develop and qualify WPS & PQR for steel castings produced in sand foundry
Approve welding repair procedures for casting defects (porosity, cracks, shrinkage)
Ensure compliance with AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX standards
Support metallurgical analysis and ensure PWHT compliance
Oversee welder qualification and certifications (CWI / CWE / IWE / IWT / CSWIP preferred)
Coordinate with Quality team on NDE results and weld integrity
Drive continuous improvement to reduce welding rework and defects
Maintain welding documentation and repair records
