Welder - Instrumentaton

Job Purpose:

To perform high-quality welding and fabrication of small-bore tubing, instrument supports, brackets, and related assemblies for instrumentation and control systems, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out welding of stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloy materials for instrumentation works (e.g., tubing, impulse lines, brackets).
• Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on small-bore piping and tubing as per drawings and WPS (Welding Procedure Specification).
• Fabricate and install supports, trays, and mounting structures for instruments and tubing.
• Read and interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, and fabrication sketches.
• Ensure proper fit-up, alignment, and finishing of weld joints.
• Conduct visual inspections and maintain weld quality to meet project/QC standards.
• Coordinate with instrument fitters and supervisors for installation works.
• Maintain tools, welding machines, and consumables in good working condition.
• Follow all site safety rules, including hot work permit procedures.
• Record work completion and report material requirements or issues to supervisors.

Skills and Qualifications:

• ITI / Diploma in Welding or related trade.
• Proven experience as a TIG Welder in industrial projects (oil & gas, petrochemical, power, or manufacturing).
• Strong knowledge of welding procedures, symbols, and quality standards.
• Skilled in welding thin-wall SS tubing and small-bore piping.
• Familiarity with QA/QC inspection requirements (WPS, PQR, WPQ).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good knowledge of safety requirements for hot works.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in plant/site conditions, including confined spaces and heights.
• Comfortable with handling welding machines, grinders, and other tools.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: ₹700.00 - ₹900.00 per day
