Job Summary:The WEC Leader is responsible for managing a regional Warranty Engineering Center, overseeing the root cause analysis of returned automotive electronic components. This role ensures timely, accurate, and thorough investigations of customer returns, coordinating cross-functional collaboration with hardware, software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams. The WEC Leader plays a key role in driving customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and product reliability.
Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership and Management
Lead and mentor a team of 5–10 engineers and technicians.
Allocate resources effectively to meet investigation timelines and customer expectations.
Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Prioritize team assignments upon workload and customer expectations.
Root Cause Analysis & Technical Oversight
Oversee and guide the technical investigation of returned parts using bench testing, diagnostic tools, and simulation environments.
Ensure structured problem-solving methodologies are applied (e.g., FTA, Fishbone, 5 Whys).
Drive standardization and best practices across WEC processes.
Validate triage decisions and approve root cause findings.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with internal teams (hardware, software, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, quality) to support investigations.
Act as the technical management liaison between the WEC and global engineering team leaders. Initiate escalation per need.
Customer Communication & Reporting
Provide regular updates to customers interfacing Quality Engineers on investigation status, findings, and resolutions.
Ensure timely and professional communication that builds trust and transparency.
Process & Quality Improvement
Identify trends in warranty returns and contribute to design or process improvements.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
8+ years of experience in automotive electronics, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of root cause analysis tools and structured problem-solving methodologies.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Fluent in English; additional regional language skills are a plus.
Preferred Skills:Familiarity with diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, CAN/LIN analysis and systems validation.
Experience with global OEMs and Tier 1 customer requirements.
Experience with automotive quality standards and customer-facing roles.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and failure modes in electronics.
