API Testing Fundamentals

• REST & SOAP API knowledge

  : Understanding of protocols, endpoints, and methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE).

• Request/Response validation

  : Status codes, headers, payloads, and error handling.

• Authentication mechanisms

  : OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys, session tokens.

• Tools proficiency

  : Postman, Swagger, Insomnia for manual testing; knowledge of automation tools like RestAssured or Newman is a plus.

Manual Testing Expertise

• Test case design

  : Creating detailed, reusable test cases for UI and API layers.

• Bug reporting & tracking

  : Using tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or Azure DevOps.

• Cross-browser & cross-device testing

  : Ensuring compatibility across platforms.

• Regression & exploratory testing

  : Identifying edge cases and usability issues.

Web Application Testing Skills

• UI/UX validation

  : Ensuring consistency and responsiveness across devices.

• Frontend-backend integration

  : Validating data flow and sync between UI and APIs.

• Performance & load awareness

  : Basic understanding of how APIs behave under stress.

Diversity & Accessibility Testing

• Localization/Internationalization

  : Testing across languages, regions, and cultural contexts.

• Accessibility standards

  : Familiarity with WCAG guidelines and tools like Axe or Lighthouse.

• Inclusive user scenarios

  : Testing for varied user personas, including differently abled users.

Collaboration & Agile Practices

• Agile/Scrum experience

  : Participating in sprints, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

• Stakeholder communication

  : Clear reporting of test results and issues to developers and PMs.

• Documentation

  : Maintaining test plans, checklists, and release notes.
