Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Conduct research and decipher manuscripts, inscriptions on images, coins, and ancient texts.
Establish the historical timeline of inscriptions using linguistic analysis, paleography, and material studies.
Provide insights into political, social, economic, and religious aspects of past civilizations.
Record and conserve inscriptions through photography, rubbings, and digital archives.
Correlate inscriptions with archaeological and literary sources to validate historical events and cultural linkages.

Preferred candidate profile

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Master's Degree in Sanskrit, Arabic, Persian, Pali, Prakrit, or Maithili
Desired qualification:
PG Diploma or Diploma in Epigraphy
