Job Description

1. Administrative Duties

  • Maintain

    proper records

    of hostel residents, including admission, attendance, and leave registers.
  • Ensure

    allocation and management

    of rooms, keeping hygiene and discipline in mind.
  • Monitor hostel

    inventory

    , including furniture, bedding, and electrical appliances.
  • Coordinate with the administration for

    maintenance and repair

    of hostel facilities.

2. Discipline and Supervision

  • Enforce

    hostel rules and regulations

    to maintain order and discipline.
  • Supervise students

    behavior, punctuality, and conduct

    within hostel premises.
  • Prevent and address incidents of

    bullying, ragging, or harassment

    , ensuring a safe environment.
  • Ensure students follow

    timings for study hours, meals, and lights-out

    schedules.

3. Safety and Security

  • Ensure

    safety of students

    by monitoring entry and exit points.
  • Keep a

    visitor log

    and verify permissions for visitors.
  • Conduct

    regular inspections

    of rooms for cleanliness, safety hazards, or prohibited items.
  • Coordinate with security personnel in case of emergencies.

4. Student Welfare and Support

  • Act as a

    mentor and guide

    , helping students adjust to hostel life.
  • Address grievances and

    mediate conflicts

    among residents.
  • Monitor students’

8. Reporting and Documentation

  • Submit

    regular reports

    to management on hostel operations, student behavior, and any incidents.
  • Maintain
