1. Health Assessment and Monitoring
Conduct pre-employment and periodic medical examinations.
Maintain employee health records confidentially and accurately.
Monitor workers exposed to occupational hazards (e.g., noise, dust, chemicals).
Identify early signs of occupational diseases and refer employees for further evaluation.
2. First Aid and Emergency Care
Provide first aid and emergency treatment for injuries or sudden illnesses at the workplace.
Coordinate with hospitals or emergency services when advanced medical care is needed.
Maintain first aid equipment, kits, and emergency medical supplies.
3. Health Education and Promotion
Organize health awareness programs on topics such as hygiene, ergonomics, stress management, and healthy living.
Educate employees about occupational hazards and preventive measures.
Conduct vaccination drives and health screening programs.
4. Workplace Safety and Disease Prevention
Participate in workplace inspections to identify health and safety risks.
Work with the safety officer and management to develop safety policies and protocols.
Promote preventive health measures to reduce absenteeism and workplace accidents.
5. Record Keeping and Reporting
Maintain medical records, accident reports, and health surveillance data.
Prepare health statistics and reports for management and regulatory compliance.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety laws and regulations.
6. Counseling and Support
Provide counseling to employees dealing with stress, substance abuse, or workplace-related issues.
Support employees in rehabilitation and return-to-work programs after illness or injury.
7. Coordination and Liaison
Coordinate with industrial safety officers, HR departments, and local health authorities.
Liaise with external health professionals, clinics, and hospitals for referrals and follow-ups.
