Provide occupational health nurses services in the facility, including developing and implementing nursing care plans, evaluating and monitoring patients medical care, and collaborating with physicians in the formulation of treatment plans. Work closely with staff and patients to identify and address potential occupational safety issues. Develop and apply plans for health promotion and disease prevention. Ensure safety and health training is given to staff. Implement health and safety training programs. Assist in developing procedures to reduce occupational hazards and risks. Develop and maintain a comprehensive, accurate tracking system. Supervise occupational health nurses. Provide assistance to the hospitals occupational health nurses. Occupational Health Nurse Responsibilities: Maintain the health of employees throughout a complete spectrum of care, including treatment of injuries, accidents, and illnesses; developing and implementing preventive health strategies; and providing education about occupational health and safety. Gather and document information, including temperature, humidity, noise levels, and air quality, on job sites. Design and implement employee health programs, including physical and employee health assessments; health counselling; and fitness programs. Communicate with employees on preventative measures, injuries, and illness. Train supervisors, managers, and employees regarding workplace safety. Develop and implement health and safety policies, standards, and procedures, and maintain onsite Staff files. Perform first aid and CPR in emergency situations. Monitor OSHA and work site regulations. Assist to evaluate employee fitness for duty. Required Candidate Profile: Qualification: - Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery / Bachelor of Science - Nursing. - Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse in Karnataka State [should possess valid Karnataka Nursing Council Number] Experience: - Minimum 1 Year relevant experience as OHC - Nurse from NABH recognized Hospital. - Demonstrates ability to practice in accordance with policies and procedures. - Demonstrates ability to accept accountability and responsibility for own actions within Registered Nurses scope of practice and works within the Manipal Framework Competency Standards for a Registered Nurse. - Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. - Ensures that the quality of care provided to patients is safe, efficient, effective, accessible, and timely and consumer focused. - Demonstrates competence, confidence and accountability in the safe delivery of patient care. Role & responsibilities Health Surveillance and Monitoring: Conduct regular health assessments and screenings for employees and expertise to handle emergencies to handle patients exposed to hazardous materials or environments. Monitor employees for early signs of work-related illnesses or injuries. Maintain accurate and confidential health records. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Collaborate with safety teams to identify workplace hazards and implement preventive measures in co-ordination with head of department. Participate in risk assessments and provide health-related input to improve workplace safety. First Aid and Emergency Response: Provide immediate medical care for workplace injuries and emergencies. Manage first aid kits and medical supplies to ensure readiness. Health Education and Training: As a team co-ordinate the activities for conducting training sessions on occupational health and safety, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Educate employees on the health risks associated with hazardous materials and proper handling techniques. Policy Development and Compliance: Assist in developing and implementing health and safety policies in line with legal and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with occupational health standards and guidelines. Rehabilitation and Return-to-Work Programs: Support employees in recovery and reintegration after workplace injuries or illnesses. Coordinate with supervisors and HR for modified work plans if needed. Collaboration with External Agencies: Work with team of company doctors in Liaise with occupational health specialists, environmental health agencies, and local medical services as required. Recordkeeping and Reporting: Maintain detailed reports on workplace injuries, illnesses, and health trends. Prepare reports for management on occupational health performance and compliance. 9. Support for Female Workforce: Provide counseling and support for female employees on health-related issues, including mental health and stress management. Advocate for safe and inclusive working conditions, addressing concerns like harassment or unequal access to facilities.
