The world of the supply chain is going through a transformation.

The 21st century is all about digital transformation. We have seen in the last decade how mobile penetration, technology, and connected devices have become a part of everyones life. But it may surprise you that the backbone (Logistics & Transportation) of any economy across the globe is still running on a pen-and-paper approach and siloed legacy systems.

The digital transformation of the logistics industry is just getting started, with penetration levels still less than 10% in developing countries. COVID has exposed the fragileness in the supply chain industry and created an urgency for freight digitization, prompting Gartner to predict that 50% of leading global enterprises will have invested in real-time transportation visibility solutions by 2023.

We are building an end-to-end platform to solve opaque operations and siloed systems through technology, helping customers visualize their physical logistics operations in real time on one integrated platform.

Responsibilities

  • Define goals and build GTM strategy for the sales team, including acquisition, expansion, revenue, margins, etc.
  • Build, scale, and lead a highly efficient and productive field sales team in a scalable model that enables high growth and utilizes the best combination of field sales personnel to best serve customers.
  • Monitor and analyze key Pan-India sales metrics, including sales figures, sales personnel productivity ratios, client work status, and receivables.
  • Create a predictable sales model that enables accurate forecasting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  • Implement or optimize sales processes, structures, and rigor that result in improved sales team performance, flexibility, and timely reporting.
  • Continually assess, clarify, and validate strategy and process. Track, measure, and report on sales effectiveness and adjust programs and strategies as necessary.
  • Establish and govern the sales organizations performance management system.
  • Collaborate with Marketing for demand generation (inbound and outbound) and other marketing programs to drive high conversion rates and efficient customer acquisition.
  • Coordinate the involvement of sales support personnel and/or leadership to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Work with the leadership team to ensure strategic and business objectives are met.
  • Maintain accurate insight into the competitive landscape, including detailed assessments of key competitors and reasons why opportunities are won or lost.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain teams by formulating development plans, meeting training needs, and maintaining regular communication.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Business Management, or a related field from a top-tier college. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a sales leader and 5 years of experience in scaling direct field sales.
  • Should have managed a team of 100+ sales professionals at least once, with a minimum of 5–8 direct reportees.
  • Experience in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, or Commercial Vehicle segments is a plus.
  • Complete understanding of various sales techniques and methods.
  • Familiarity with Sales CRM software.
  • Excellent critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to multitask and handle stressful situations.
  • Results- and a detail-driven individual.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
