You are a detail-oriented and proactive Commercial Operations Executive responsible for supporting the post-fixture operations of the owned fleet. In this role, you will closely collaborate with charterers, brokers, agents, and internal teams to ensure efficient and profitable voyage execution. Your key responsibilities will include handling post-fixture operations such as voyage planning, laytime calculations, and cargo documentation. You will be required to liaise with charterers, agents, bunker suppliers, and shipmasters to coordinate voyage instructions. Monitoring vessel performance to ensure compliance with charter party terms, following up on freight invoices, demurrage/despatch claims, and cost approvals are also part of your duties. Maintaining voyage records, preparing voyage profitability reports, supporting the Commercial Manager in fixture execution, and operational follow-ups will be essential. Additionally, you will coordinate port clearance requirements, ensure timely dispatch of relevant documents, maintain close communication with shipboard staff to ensure voyage efficiency and issue resolution, and track market developments while assisting in gathering commercial intelligence. To excel in this role, you should hold a degree in Shipping, Maritime Studies, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial or post-fixture operations within a drybulk ship owner/operator environment. A sound understanding of shipping documentation, charter parties, and voyage execution processes is required. Your strong coordination skills, ability to handle time-sensitive tasks under pressure, familiarity with voyage management systems like IMOS, proficiency in MS Excel and general business communication tools, and your capacity to work effectively in a team with attention to detail and willingness to learn are crucial. Main Purpose: Main Purpose: The Operations team, which runs the logistics in our firm, is at the heart of our business. The role of an oil operator is techno-commercial in nature which requires an individual to apply their technical knowledge to understand and maximize the P&L for the trader. It requires the operator to be constantly aware of market intelligence, to seek information which is commercially important and act on it promptly in consultation with the trader. Key Responsibilities: Optimize the deal P&L (profit & loss) through efficient voyage planning by communicating updates in a timely and organised manner. Position-Chartering Manager -Chennai Job Summary: Responsible for overseeing the commercial and operational activities of the fleet, ensuring efficient vessel performance, cost-effective voyage planning, and strict compliance with maritime regulations. This role involves direct coordination with charterers, agents, port authorities, and technical teams to optimize vessel utilization and maximize profitability. Key Responsibilities: Voyage Planning & Management: Plan and optimize vessel voyages for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Ensure adherence to charter party terms. Monitor voyage progress and ensure charter party requirements are met. Charter Party Management: Monitoring and follow the charterers upcoming tenders, negotiate charter hire rates during negotiations Ensure charter terms are strictly followed, and all obligations are met. Handle post-fixture activities, including laytime calculations and dispute resolutions. Port Operations Coordination: Liaise with port agents for berthing schedules, customs clearances, Conversion and Reversion Monitor port activities to minimize turnaround times and operational delays. Address any port or cargo-related issues promptly. Bunker Management: Oversee fuel consumption, bunker supply, and optimize bunkering strategies. Financial Management: Monitor voyage costs and prepare budgets for commercial operations. Verify and negotiate port disbursements with agents, bunker invoices, and other operational expenses. Follow with charterers to make sure all charter hire dues are paid timely. Team Leadership & Coordination: Lead and coordinate with operations teams, vessel masters, and port agents. Conduct performance reviews and provide guidance to team members. Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly charterer outstanding.
