VMC Programmer

Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced VMC Programmer to program, set up, and operate Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs) to produce precision parts and components. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of CNC programming using G-code and CAM software, a solid understanding of machining practices, and the ability to read technical drawings and blueprints. Key Responsibilities: Develop CNC programs for VMC machines using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar). Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Set up VMC machines, including tooling, fixturing, and work offsets. Optimize machining operations for efficiency, accuracy, and tool life. Perform first-piece inspection and make adjustments to programs or machine settings as needed. Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate records of programs, setups, and tool lists. Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and company production standards. Qualifications: Diploma or technical certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Machining, or a related field. Proficiency in CAM software and manual G-code programming. Solid understanding of machining principles, speeds/feeds, and cutting tools. Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
