VMC Operator

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated VMC Operator & Programmer to join our Toolroom team. The candidate will be responsible for operating Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) to produce precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and components as per engineering drawings and requirements. The operator should ensure quality, accuracy, and timely completion of machining jobs while maintaining machine safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and monitor VMC machines in the toolroom.
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.
• Prepare tooling, fixtures, and raw materials for machining operations.
• Load and set cutting tools, offsets, and fixtures on VMC machine.
• Ensure first-piece approval and in-process inspection as per quality standards.
• Perform precision machining of toolroom components, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
• Monitor machine performance, cutting parameters, and tool wear.
• Handle program loading, minor editing, and corrections on the machine.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per requirements.
• Record job details, maintain production log, and follow job card instructions.
• Ensure proper care, cleaning, and basic maintenance of VMC machine.
• Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized toolroom.
• Coordinate with engineers/designers for job clarifications.
• Support in continuous improvement and productivity enhancement activities.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• ITI / Diploma in Machinist, Tool & Die, Production, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in VMC machine operation (preferably toolroom background).
• Knowledge of CNC programming basics (Fanuc / Siemens / Haas controls preferred).
• Hands-on experience in using precision measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Height Gauge, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
• Knowledge of toolroom practices, cutting speeds, and feeds.
• Strong sense of quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work in shifts if required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
