Ensures components meet tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes required for tooling applications. Key Responsibilities: Operate surface grinding machines (manual or CNC) with precision and accuracy. Understand and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions. Perform surface grinding on various metals (hardened steel, mild steel, etc.) for components like dies, punches, plates, and other tooling parts. Maintain close tolerances (within ±0.01 mm or as specified). Select and dress grinding wheels based on material and finish requirements. Set up workpieces using magnetic chucks, vices, and proper clamping techniques. Inspect finished components using micrometers, height gauges, surface finish comparators, and other measuring tools. Maintain machine cleanliness, routine lubrication, and minor maintenance. Ensure job documentation, daily reports, and quality inspection sheets are properly filled. Work in coordination with tool makers, CNC operators, and quality teams. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workstation. Key Responsibilities: Set up, operate, and monitor VMC machines in the toolroom. Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications. Prepare tooling, fixtures, and raw materials for machining operations. Load and set cutting tools, offsets, and fixtures on VMC machine.
