As a Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) in a manufacturing conglomerate based in Chennai, your role will involve spearheading the M&A function to drive both organic and inorganic growth through strategic acquisitions. Your substantial experience in the manufacturing sector will be crucial for identifying new growth opportunities and successfully integrating acquired companies. Your key responsibilities will include: - **M&A Strategy Formulation & Execution**: - Leading the design and implementation of a comprehensive M&A strategy aligned with the company's long-term goals. - Identifying new growth opportunities and acquisition targets within the manufacturing industry. - **Target Identification & Evaluation**: - Actively sourcing potential acquisition targets in South India. - Assessing the strategic fit, financial health, and operational synergy of potential targets through thorough due diligence. - **Negotiation & Deal Structuring**: - Leading negotiations and structuring complex deals to balance strategic alignment with financial objectives. - Overseeing financial modeling, deal terms, and legal structures. - **Post-Acquisition Integration**: - Ensuring smooth integration of newly acquired companies by aligning culture, systems, and operational processes. - Driving post-deal synergies and realizing long-term value. - **Stakeholder Engagement & Management**: - Collaborating with senior leadership and department heads to ensure alignment on acquisition priorities. - Building strong relationships with external advisors, legal partners, and financial institutions. - **Market Insights & Trend Analysis**: - Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to inform strategic decision-making. - Providing insights on emerging opportunities and potential threats. - **Team Leadership & Development**: - Building and leading a high-performing M&A team. - Mentoring junior team members for ongoing capability development within the organization. Qualifications required for this role include: - **Experience**: - 18-25 years in leading M&A activities, particularly in the manufacturing sector. - Experience with global inorganic growth strategies is preferred. - **Education**: - MBA (or equivalent) from a top-tier institution, with a focus on finance, strategy, or business management. - **Industry Expertise**: - In-depth knowledge of the manufacturing sector in India. - **Skills**: - Strong negotiation, financial modeling, and due diligence expertise. - Proven leadership abilities with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. This role also entails extensive travel within India and potential international travel to meet business needs.
