Job Description

As the Lighting Lead, your role involves leading and managing the lighting team. You will collaborate with the team and pipeline developers to ensure the look and vision of each project is achieved effectively and efficiently. Your responsibilities include: - Working with the lighting team & pipeline developers to ensure the look and vision of each project is achieved effectively and efficiently - Assembling temp comps of the lighting passes - Completing daily one-on-one rounds with the lighting team Primary Responsibilities: - Quality and artistic supervision of lighting with input from VFX Supervisor - Implementing generic lighting and compositing to help facilitate the creative ''look'' of the project - Delivering final shots to production and ensuring final technical check is complete - Tracking lighting continuity within sequences - Participating as a Supervising team member in determining various design solutions; efficiency improvements and providing artistic feedback on a shot and sequence level to other team members of the production - Coaching and guiding the team of Lighting TD's to execute quality performance for the project - Attending all relevant meetings to promote effective communication throughout the production team Required Skills / Technical Competencies: - Extensive management experience of large teams - Ability to plan and execute complex lighting scenes including working with layers and passes and optimizing scenes and renders - Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal) - Highly proficient skills in technical problem-solving - Planning well and managing priorities - Relevant knowledge of color theory, composition, lighting, aesthetics, and how these apply to lighting and rendering - Strong working knowledge of various software platforms including Maya, Arnold, Nuke, or any other high-end CG/VFX software Preferred Skills / Competencies: - Some photography experience a plus (knowledge of composition, photography terms like depth of field, FOV, aperture, exposure, dynamic range) - Good knowledge of Maya, Arnold, Redshift, Nuke, and Unreal - 5+ years' experience as a Lighting Lead or role with an equivalent level of responsibility in VFX film and animated projects If you are interested in this position, kindly share your profiles on shraddha.d@philmcgi.com.
