Vertical Lead - Content Strategy & Production

Job Overview

KUKU is looking for a strategic and creative AVP to lead content creation and strategy for our microdramas storytelling formats. This is a high-impact, business-oriented role for someone who can balance creative excellence with operational execution and measurable business outcomes.

The ideal candidate will be a storytelling expert with a data-driven mindset, capable of leading high-velocity content production, optimizing content ROI, and driving audience growth across multiple languages and formats. This role requires a deep understanding of consumer behavior, social media insights, engagement strategies, and performance analytics, ensuring that every story contributes to both brand and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the content strategy for microdramas fiction, aligned with KUKUs business priorities, audience preferences, and growth goals.
• Lead and mentor a team of writers, producers, and creative stakeholders, as well as manage external partners like production houses, talent, and dubbing studios.
• Collaborate with P&L owners, marketing, product, and analytics teams to measure content performance, optimize engagement, and maximize business impact.
• Integrate emerging storytelling techniques and technologies, including generative AI, to enhance content quality, speed, and scalability.
• Analyze audience insights, industry trends, and competitor benchmarks to inform content decisions, ensuring a strong balance of creativity and business value.
• Implement operational best practices for high-volume content production without compromising quality.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Media, Communications, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 7–9 years of experience in content creation and production, with a focus on fictional, consumer-facing formats.
• Proven track record in long-form storytelling, with experience leading successful, high-velocity content production at scale.
• Experience in integrating generative AI or emerging content technologies into production workflows is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of regional content preferences and multilingual production.
• Exceptional business acumen, including the ability to tie content strategies to revenue, engagement metrics, and audience growth.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
