Utility Manager - Projects

Role & responsibilities

• Utility system installation from initiation to commissioning as per approved design and standards.
• Ensure timely utility system execution and adherence to project schedules.
• Prepare accurate BOQs for utility equipment such as pipes, valves, fittings, and accessories and manage materials, and ensure optimal cost and resource control.
• Ensure safety, statutory, and quality compliance across all project activities.
• Lead and coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation and ensure smooth handover of all systems upon project completion.
• Generate and present performance reports of project activities to management.
• Review and understand project scope, design drawings, P&IDs, and mechanical specifications.
• Responsible for 100% compliance in utility calculation, installation, documentation, and legal requirements.
• Plan and execute installation of Boilers, HAGs, Chimneys, Cooling Towers, Raw Water Systems, Softeners, DM & Purified Water Generation & Distribution, Chillers, Compressors, Nitrogen Plants, Pipe Racks, and Fire Hydrant Systems.
• Maintain and monitor water quality parameters (boiler, drinking, process) as per specified standards.
• Prepare and update execution schedules, conduct review meetings, and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery of project targets.
• Coordinate with project managers, consultants, and site teams for technical clarifications and approvals.
• Supervise contractors for installation, fabrication, erection, testing, and commissioning activities with strict adherence to safety standards.
• Support and execute qualification activities such as DQ, IQ, OQ, and assist in PQ documentation.
• Maintain as-built drawings, test certificates, and compliance records.
• Identify resource requirements and ensure quality output in all activities following safety standards.

Preferred candidate profile

1.Strong background in mechanical project execution with expertise in pharmaceutical utility systems.

2.Strong site execution knowledge with hands-on experience in at least two small or one large greenfield project in Chemicals, API, or Specialty Chemicals.

3.Machinery Exposure: Boiler, HAG, Chimney, Cooling tower, Raw Water system, Softener, DM generation & distribution, Chiller, Compressor, Nitrogen plant, Pipe Rack approach up to all plants, Fire Hydrant Pipeline.

4.Have basic knowledge of Utility Equipments and water system.

5.Ability to interpret technical drawings and prepare accurate BOQs.

6.Energy Conservation Activity & Project Documentation Activities.

7.The role involves 30% travel to other project locations as required.

8.Day to Day Project management in green field project/brown field project.
