Job Description

Job Summary:

The Tax Analyst will play a vital role in supporting the US-based tax compliance and tax accounting functions. This role involves assisting the domestic tax function with essential tasks that contribute to timely meeting deadlines and accurate tax filings and reporting. The ideal candidate will have robust communication skills, strong attention to detail, solid analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance Support: Assist in the preparation and analysis of data for federal, state, and local tax returns ---- both income tax and indirect taxes (including sales/use tax and premium tax).
  • Tax Accounting Support: Support the preparation of tax provisions (both US GAAP and SSAP) and related calculations, including tax account reconciliations.
  • Fixed Asset and Depreciation Support: Assist with fixed asset accounting and depreciation calculations.
  • Data Management and Analysis: Format, import, and analyze data from various sources to support tax functions.
  • Information Reporting Support: Assist with information reporting associated with domestic and foreign requirements.
  • Other Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the preparation of ad hoc reports.
  • Support process improvements and documentation efforts.
  • Assist with supporting federal and state tax audits.
  • Effectively communicate project status, questions, and potential issues through regular meetings and written updates.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Flexible hours to accommodate periodic Eastern Standard Time meetings.

Specifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in tax compliance or accounting.
  • General familiarity with US GAAP or SSAP accounting principles and US federal and state tax regulations.
  • Experience with tax software is a plus.
  • Experience with SmartView and other Oracle applications is a plus.
