Job Description

You will be responsible for overseeing the quality and compliance of US federal and state tax filings. As a US Tax Quality & Compliance Lead, your role will involve conducting detailed quality reviews of individual and business tax filings to ensure accuracy and regulatory integrity. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding quality, mentoring preparers, and providing technical expertise in the field of taxation. **Key Responsibilities:** - Perform detailed quality reviews of US individual and business tax filings before submission. - Review federal returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and S-corporations. - Validate accuracy of state and local tax filings across multiple jurisdictions. - Ensure correct application of tax laws, elections, credits, deductions, and disclosures. - Identify compliance risks, inconsistencies, and potential exposure areas. - Provide clear technical guidance to tax preparers and support resolution of complex tax positions. - Conduct targeted tax research and document conclusions for internal reference. - Maintain clean, audit-ready workpapers and reviewer documentation. - Collaborate with onshore or client-facing teams to resolve review queries quickly. - Contribute to continuous improvement of review checklists and quality benchmarks. **Qualifications Required:** - Strong hands-on experience reviewing US individual and business tax returns. - Deep understanding of US federal and state tax regulations. - Proven ability to identify errors, compliance gaps, and tax optimization opportunities. - Excellent attention to detail, documentation discipline, and analytical thinking. - Clear communication skills to provide structured feedback to preparation teams. - Ability to work calmly under tight deadlines during high-volume tax periods. The ideal candidate will have experience working in US tax review, quality control, or senior tax roles, with exposure to CPA firms, tax advisory practices, or US tax outsourcing environments. While an EA / CPA / equivalent credential is an advantage, it is not mandatory. This role offers the opportunity to work with a team that values quality, compliance, and continuous improvement in tax review processes.
